IELTS writing part1: How ocean thermal energy conversion works
This essay is my homework my teacher game us yesterday. The topic is "How ocean thermal energy conversion works".
The information I learned about grammar is;
which results in
e.g. The turbine spins which results in the generator being spun.
After 1clause (present perfect), 2clause.
e.g. After the voltage has been changed by the transformer, it goes out to the national grid.
Describe it
This diagram shows the process of generating electricity by ocean thermal energy conversion. The aim of the system is to create energy by the power of sun and ocean. There are several steps and equipment in order to operate this conversion system, which consists of evacuated evaporation chamber, turbine and condensing chamber.
Overall, this system is made up of main three parts, which are defined by evaporating water, generating electricity, and condensing steam. And this machine is characterized at making use of the different temperature between the surface and the bottom of the ocean.
Firstly, water is collected in chamber, where it evaporates water by solar energy, which results in turning water into two substances; steam and salt. The former flows through the tube and reach the place where turbine is equipped, on the other hand the latter goes down to around condensing chamber. Secondly, the steam pushes a turbine and makes it spun, which results in generating electricity. Thirdly, the steam descends through the tube and reaches the another chamber, which condenses the steam by cold water. After the steam has been condensed, desalinated water is produced.
This system utilizes the distinction of water temperature at ocean, where there is a gap consisting of 25 degree from the surface to the bottom of the machine. This difference is allowed to create electricity.
